T built of sandstone, a Gothic church, for centuries witnessed the development of the Franciscan order in these areas. In the 18th century he received a monumental baroque facade. The interior is also decorated in this style. After damage, which the church of St. Antoni suffered, 16 December 1945 a year, as a result of a bombing raid, it was thoroughly renovated. During the works, the 13th-century altar was unearthed, almost intact. Inside the church there are tombstones from different periods, built into the presbytery floor and the nave walls. The variety of styles inside the church reflects its rich past.
In 1961-1968, works were carried out to secure the building against tilting towards Hors-Chateau street. The building remained a place of worship until 1977 a year. Then it was desacralized and the parish was moved to the church of St. Catherine at rue Neuvice. The property became the property of the province of Liege. The entire old architectural complex consisting of a monastery and a church in 1989 was rented to the owners of the Museum at Chamart House (now the Walloon Museum of Life). Today, the completely restored church is used to organize prestigious cultural events and is the site of many temporary exhibitions.
