Mahymobiles - Museum de l'auto
The unusual collection of the Mahy family includes over 950 cars, 60 motorcycles, bicycles, and children's cars. In the museum de l'auto in Leuze-en-Hainaut, you can admire 300 historic cars that tell the history of the automotive industry. The rest of the collection is presented at the Autoworlds museum in Brussels, where over 250 cars have been collected. Other vintage cars are successively renovated.
The creator of the collection is Ghislain Mahy, born in 1907, who has developed his automotive passion for years. In 1938, he opened the first car rental company in Belgium, and then became an agent for several well-known manufacturers, such as: Nash, Simca and Fiat.

Mahymobiles - beginnings of the collection
In 1945, Guislain began creating a collection. It was then that he bought two cars: a Benz Karpatensieger from 1915 and a Fiat Limousine from 1921. Over the years, the collection has grown successively. Guislain Mahy understood the concept of a collector's car long before anyone else. When interest in vintage cars increased in the 1960s, Guislain wanted to share his passion.
In 1970, in Houthalen, Guislain opened a car museum where he presented a collection of 250 carefully restored cars. In 1986, the Autoworld museum opened in the center of Brussels, housing a quarter of the Mahy family's massive collection. The museum presents cars from different countries of the world, including the United States and, of course, Belgium. The history of the Belgian automotive industry is represented by the following brands: Minevra, Imperia, Nagent, Germain, Fondu, FN, Miesse, Vivinus and Belgian-Rise.
