Annevoie Water Gardens
Charles-Alexis Montpellier, son of the owner of Annevoie Castle, was the initiator of the creation of the gardens. He contributed to the expansion of the estate that had been in his family's possession since the 18th century. His numerous trips around Europe inspired the design of gardens that were opened to the public in the 1930s. Annevoie is a wonderful combination of French, Italian and English-style gardens with fountains, waterfalls and bird-filled ponds. In 1982 the gardens, along with the buildings, were classified as a Historical Monument.
