Annevoie Water Gardens

The initiator of the creation of the gardens was Charles-Alexis Montpellier, son of the owner of the Annevoie castle. He contributed to the expansion of the estate, which had been in his family's possession since the 18th century. His numerous travels around Europe inspired the design of the gardens, which were opened to the public in the 1930s. Annevoie is a stunning blend of French, Italian and English-style gardens, complete with fountains, waterfalls and bird-filled ponds. In 1982, the gardens, along with the buildings, were classified as a Historic Monument.
