Knokke-Heist
It is the most popular and most expensive resort on the Belgian coast, located right on the border with the Netherlands. It is famous for its expensive boutiques, numerous art galleries, and above all, the magnificent Zwin nature reserve. This area is a paradise for hiking and cycling enthusiasts. Numerous festivals take place in the city. The most popular are: Kneistival, a music festival held here since 1986, the international Experimental Film Festival, and the Comics Festival. At the end of February, the city hosts carnival. Knokke-Heist is home to 40 art galleries.

Zwin National Park
The unique park covers an area of 158 hectares. Most of the reserve is located in Belgium. 33 hectares are in the Netherlands. The location of the park means that at high tide the sea floods the plain behind the beach and dunes, creating a magnificent reservoir. The soil of the mudflats provides a rich and diverse food source for thousands of birds from around the world who come here to breed, hibernate or forage. Wetlands and sandy dunes have been prepared for hiking and cycling, providing tourists with wonderful contact with nature. The thirty hectares of the park are home to Shetland ponies and the endangered Flemish dune goat.
Knokke-Heist Promenade
Knokke-Heist is a seaside resort, created by the merger of five former fishing villages, whose origins date back to the 13th century. Heist, Duinbergen, Albertstrand, Knokke, Het Zoute together form an eleven-kilometer coastal strip with five different beaches. We will find extraordinary diversity here, both in architecture and in the surrounding environment. In Heist we will walk along the promenade next to the tall buildings typical of the Belgian coast. Knokke has an old center with charming hotels and stylish villas. Het Zoute is a very exclusive green area with expensive houses and golf courses. This is where the Zwin National Park begins, the pride of Knokke-Heist. The best way to explore the city and the park is by bike. Renting a bike costs a dozen or so euros for two hours.
