Blankenberge - seaside resort
Blankenberge is one of the most popular resorts on the Belgian coast. It is famous for its magnificent beach stretching for several kilometers, the 350-meter pier with the Aquarama exhibition, and the elegant Art Deco casino. Convenient train connections and numerous attractions – the marina, the Belle Epoque centre, pedestrian streets – make Blankenberge an ideal place for holidays and day trips. Everyone will find something for themselves here. Some will be delighted by the wide, clean beaches, others by the magnificent pier. Someone will choose to visit the casino or be transported to another era in the Belle Epoque center. Any reason is good to come to Blankenberge.
Blankenberge Attractions
One of the resort's most recognizable attractions is the unusual pier built in 1933. It not only offers a wonderful view of the North Sea, but also the opportunity to visit seafood restaurants. There are many benches along the 350-meter pier for walking tourists. This is a wonderful viewpoint for watching sunrises and sunsets.
At the edge of the city there is a lighthouse built in 1954. Today, fully automated, it recalls the rich history of maritime navigation. The facility is not open to visitors. An extremely popular attraction in Blankenberge is the sea aquarium. Here you can admire marine life in an 8-meter-long underwater tunnel. Forty aquariums house seals, penguins, turtles and other aquatic creatures. The Uitkerkse nature reserve, adjacent to Blankenberge, offers walking and cycling routes. This area is a paradise for bird lovers.

Belle Epoque Center
This extraordinary museum takes visitors on a journey back in time, to the years 1870-1914, when the Belle Epoque reigned in Europe. For Blankenberge, this is a time of prosperity, continuous development and growing popularity. The city became a major resort on the Belgian coast. In three majestic houses from 1894, converted into a museum, you can admire wonderful photographs, postcards and clothing from the past century. The centre shows the extraordinary influence the Belle Epoque had on the development of Blankenberge. The museum has prepared a city guide. All places built in the Art Nouveau style are marked here.
