A trip by handcar in the Molignée Valley

Discover the picturesque corners of the Molignée Valley by traveling by handcar along the route of the old railway line. There are three trails to choose from: 6, 8 and 14 kilometers. The shortest of them, with  Falaën do Maredsous, will take us through Sosoye, one of the most beautiful villages in Wallonia, past rock formations, to the Maredsous station. From here, after a twenty-minute walk, we reach the magnificent abbey, where we can taste the cheeses and beer produced here. After two hours, you set off on the return journey along the same route. The entire tour takes three and a half hours.

Trail from Warnant to Maredsous - 14 kilometers of pleasure

Eight-kilometer trail from Warnant to  Falaën leads mainly through a forested area. Along the way, you pass an old quarry and the ruins of the 14th-century Montaigle Castle, classified as a major Walloon heritage site. The longest route, 14 kilometres long, from Warnant to Maredsous is a combination of routes of 6 and 8 kilometres. Please note that the journey takes place in both directions on the same tracks, hence the need for breaks at individual stations. The journey on the longest route, including visiting the abbey, takes five hours and thirty minutes.
