During the game you can try many dishes based on pores. The parade is based on the legend, according to which the inhabitants of this area had to pay the church the tithe in the form of grain. Unfortunately, due to the poor harvest of grain, the tithe had to be given in vegetables, and in those days the most popular vegetables were pores. Joseph le Repiqueur, a resident of a tribute-paying village, bred a huge leek, so it was expected that it would be possible to give away a smaller number of pores as tithing. Unfortunately, they had to give up the same amount. When half of the harvest was stolen from the warehouses in which tithing was stored, it was explained with a smile that the vegetables themselves fled, as if they had legs.
Similar parades are also held in other cities throughout Belgium. Each has its own unique hero. The giants' figures are approximately 4.5 tall and are worn by one man who is changed by other members of the group. The giant's outfit weighs tens of kilos. The parade takes place in Tilff also in September, but then the main characters are giants. The parade is a wonderful holiday for both residents and tourists.
