Stedelijk Museum Voor Actuele Kunst (Museum of Contemporary Art) - this museum has a permanent exhibition of works by Belgian and foreign artists. In the nineties of the twentieth century, the museum was opened by Jan Hoet, one of the most famous creators of museums. The greatest success is enjoyed by the works of three of the most-known contemporary Belgian artists: Pierre Alechinski, Karel Appel and Panamarenko. You can also see the works of foreign artists with recognized names, for example: Christo, Warhol or Hockney.

Museum Voor Schone Kunsten (Museum of Fine Arts) - the thoroughly restored museum was opened on 26 maja 2007 year. It presents works of modern and old art. Particularly noteworthy is the collection of works by Flemish primitivists. Here we find paintings by artists whose names work on the imagination: Hieronim Bosch, Peter Paul Rubens and James Ensor, and many other artists who created the power of visual arts in the south of the Netherlands from the fifteenth to the twentieth century. From October 2012 year in the museum, maintenance work on the wonderful work of brothers Van Eyck, Adoration of the Mystical Lamb has been underway. With a ticket that allows you to watch the renovation of this work, where you can see at the work of conservators, you can also go to visit the permanent collection and vice versa.

Huis van Alijn Museum (Folklore Museum) - the museum is located in the building of the only remaining poorhouse in Ghent. The everyday life of the inhabitants of Ghent is illustrated throughout the rooms. This museum with a beautiful interior garden tells a timeless tale of all things, big and small. In the museum, ordinary objects introduce visitors to the heritage of the inhabitants of Ghent. You can see here a collection of old photos, and fragments of private films recorded by the city's inhabitants, who present their stories and give testimony of how the city looked in the past.

Dr. Guislain Museum - is located in the building of the oldest private hospital in Belgium, built in 1857 year. As the ad says, you have to be crazy to not visit it. In this magnificent oasis there is a permanent collection that shows the history of psychiatry from the brutal, primitive methods of treating patients, to the work of autistic people, considered to be sick. We also find here an international collection of art of outsider art. or art. brut.

Stam (Municipal Museum) - located in the historical part of Ghent, Bijloke. The museum tells the city's history with the help of interactive multimedia. The past, present and future are presented in a clear and interesting way. The trail shows the transformation of Ghent from a medieval metropolis into a city of knowledge and culture.
